COMMUNITY COMPANY SPOTLIGHTS
Start a conversation.
Share their work.
Build a connection.
Students and designers can approach a firm with something to offer: an interview that celebrates its people, process, and products. You get a chance to connect informally and a published contributor credit. The firm gets a public feature that helps more people discover its work.
How it works
- Choose a firm and invite someone on its design team to a short conversation.
- Ask about their work, gather approved quotes and images, and write up what you learned.
- Submit the story for editorial review. Accepted stories receive a contributor credit; selected features appear on the homepage.
Publication is subject to review. A spotlight is not a job application, a promise of employment, or a guarantee of homepage placement.
A simple way to reach out
Hi [name], I’m [your name], a [student/designer] interested in your team’s work. I’d love to have a short conversation and put together a community company spotlight to submit to FindIndustrial.Design. It would introduce readers to your team and a project you can share. You’d have a chance to approve your quotes and images before submission. Would someone on your team be open to a 20-minute conversation?
Questions to get you started
- What does your team design, and who is it for?
- Is there a project you can share that represents your approach?
- How do designers collaborate with the rest of the company?
- What do you wish emerging designers understood about this work?
What to gather
- Your story, the interviewee’s name and role, and the conversation date.
- Approved images with captions, photographer or creator credits, and permission to publish.
- Your preferred byline and optional portfolio link.
- A company contact for private editorial verification.
Share only material the firm has approved for public use. Avoid confidential projects and assets you do not have permission to publish.
